Hi all, I am finally back on the road after 2 weeks and $2,045.00. Thanks to Williams Corvette shop in Sumter South Carolina. he had a friend weld my outboard starter attach point on the block and we went ahead and changed the clutch assy and flywheel because of a broken tooth and a ground down one next to it. The welder also made a bracket from the outboard side of the starter to the oil pan. just thought I would let yall know.

Im expierencing the same issue. Did you remove the engine to weld the part back on??
I am pretty sure it can be done in car. I had a dealership reciept from teh original owner of my car when it was done and nothing was mentioned about motor R&R, and the price didn't reflect it.
GMPP replaced my engine last year due to the starter flange breaking off and they said they would not trust welding the broken piece back on. I thought at the time that it might be prudent to add some more "beef" to the new block before it failed, but they said if I welded or added anything and it broke again GMPP would not cover the repair. I still have 6 months left on my GMPP, but may look for a stronger solution after that.
