To be perfectly honest, I like the idea, but it looks like you used some sort of hand tool to cut the sides to fit against the car’s body. It looks a little shaky. If someone knows how to make smoother trimming on the splash guards, it would be a great addition. Maybe someone will chime in with a method of trimming and you can try it again.
The best method is a dremel with cutting disk and sanding disk. Cut the material off til you get close to the desired shape then use the sanding wheel to fine tune the shape. I also used a small piece of sandpaper on a block to get the edge flat. It's hard to get a really flat edge with the dremel.
It takes quite a bit of test fitting to get it matched up. But, definitaly worth it in the end. They make a very nice factory looking splash guard. Wish I could get some for the front now.
I think they are a great addition to the car cause I to hate the dirt that I get on my car right behind the rear tires. Might be the next addition to my car?
I used some plastic screws that are pretty flat on top. I wish I did have a better tool to make them better looking. I was planning on taking them off and cleaning them up.
Hello everybody, I just them on and Im very satisfied. They turned out better then I thought. Tell me what you think
Nice job. It's really difficult with the poor fit of the Vette fender panels to get a smooth line. You've done really well. You can still see where you sanded down and there's the odd scratch. That will bed in with use and improve after some detailing. I'd leave it a while before you pull it off. Looks great
