97 overheated fan not running

97 overheated fan not running
My 97 overheated to 265 degrees when I pulled over and the fans were not running I checked the fuse and it was ok. Any ideas? thanks Dave

Check the relays, there's three of them, also if the temp sensor is going bad the fans wont work.

Isnt the sensor thats connected to the lower radiator shroud associated with the fans? Not sure though...
If so, that would be a fairly simple check..

The sensor on the lower radiator shroud is for outside air temp... the coolant temp sensor is at the front of the driver's side head.

Turn on A/C as this over-rides and turns on the fans.

They turn on when the A/c is on. Where are the sensors and relays? Which should I start with? Thanks Dave
