Default FAST Intake/MAP Sensor Contact w/Firewall

I have seen several posts on the contact between the MAP sensor and the firewall with the FAST intake. Can anyone tell me exactly what part of the MAP sensor hits the firewall? There is a protrusion that is used to clip the MAP onto the stock setup that is not required for the FAST. I am considering sanding this off and then pushing the MAP into the intake port and bedding in some RTV to keep it from rotating or moving once installed. Has anyone found this to resolve the contact issue?

Grind off the extra plastic clip (as it is useless with the FAST) and silicone that bad boy to the intake....done deal end of story....no worries about MAP sensor issues. Make sure you give it a full 24 hours to set-up before you try to install the intake as you may bump it a few times when you go to install it.

Get that baby installed already!!

I'm working on it, you know me, Mr. Slowpoke got to have everything perfect, check twice super cautious (or as my wife calls me, Super ****)

One thing I did find, nice find by the way, is the throttle body bypass connection. Its a heavy non-metallic 1/4" coupler at NAPA. Tonight I got some 90* fittings for the A/C vacuum line to port it over to the driver's side rear port on the FAST. Very robust fittings.

Post up pics Mr. **** I'm the same way when modding my car... take tremendous pride in knowing it's done "right" and the attention to detail is there.

I've heard of some people doing a MAP extension or relocating it, but it sounds as if Tony has you covered.

I ground off my plastic clips, beveled the plastic and still broke 3 Map sensors.

Stories like this are why I just relocated mine in the first place. Do it once and not worry about it...

Well, had to stop for the night because of the PCV hose issue and am out of town tomorrow. So, mind is working OT again. Has anyone tried rotating the MAP 180 degrees so the plug faces the driver's side of the car? It would require extending the cable by splicing it (unless there is an extension kit I am not aware of) but you pick up a lot of clearance. The first photo is the FAST sitting in place with the MAP in the normal orientation. I am in contact already (although the FAST isn't tightened down yet).

Here, I simply rotated the MAP to point the other way. The connector won't reach (yet ), but you pick up almost 1/4" of clearance to the firewall. Has anyone tried doing this?
