Default Tire Pressure Sensor Programming - Redux

Those members on this list who have not had success in programming your tire pressure sensors, what has been your course of action to correct the problem? Especially in light of the computer restricting you to 50mph thinking you have 0 psi in some or all tires. Did you locate your nearest dealer and have them do the job?

most tire places can help you out, especially if you have bought some tires from them in the past. i used ntb and thay are very helpful. it is easy to do and almost any magnet will do. i have used a speaker magnet, refrig. door magnet and parts tray magnet. just be patient. i assume you have tried on your own and failed? it can take 20-30 seconds sometimes to get the horn chirp but unless you have a bad tps on the lf tire, hold the magnet near the rim and stem and wait. if you think it may be a bad tps, move to the lf tire and see if it works. it wont register as the lf but you can then maybe isolate to a bad lf tps. are other tires reporting pressures correctly?

good luck!

Thanks for the reply. I could get the left front to make the horn chirp but never got the right front to go. I had three very strong magnets from a large older computer hard drive. No matter how long and still I kept the magnets on the right front, the horn never sounded. I finally bit the bullet and took the Vette to my local Chevrolet dealer. They programmed everything for $67 in about 20 minutes.
