I am doing headers w/o the air hookup ao I am going to delete it completly and take the system all out, will there be ANY decrease in performance? Will it still pass emissions??
The AIR system is comprised of one air pump (located under the driver's side head light) that feeds fresh air into both exhaust manifolds ONLY during the initial startup of the engine in an effort to increase the catalytic converters ability to neutralize the exhaust. After the initial startup, the AIR system servers NO purpose and therefore I cannot think of any reason why the removal would have any effect on performance or on the car's ability to pass an emission "sniffer" test provided the car was driven to the emission testing station. The only concern is that the car could be failed on a visual inspection for what they don't see.

^Just what I thought it did, I may get the tsp headers instead of the ebay headers just for the fact that they have the air tubes, not really sure if I wan to take all the air stuff out yet.
If the system isn't working you will get a diagnostic code that will cause you to fail an emissions check if your state has them. Before the system goes into closed loop mode the PCM checks the O2 sensors for a rich or lean condition after a cold start to see if air is being pumped into the exhaust.
