After I have driven for awhile, then let the car sit for
1/2 hour or so, I start the car back up and I get a collant smell from
the vents for about 10-15 sec. It stops and doesn't
come back. It's been happening for some time and I don't notice
any less collant in the catch can/radiator.
Should I suspect the heater core is starting to $hit the bed??
Any opinions, guesses, suggestions, wise A$$ remarks...
i have the same issue. had mine pressure checked and they found no problem. i kinda figured heater core too. i have a gmpp and its covered so i guess it has to puke all over the floor before its considered bad. only has the smell for a few seconds and when first started hot
Posted this once..must have gotten lost in cyberland.
Another indicator that it is possibly heater core...clean inside of windshield above defroster vents. Let car warm up. With heat setting on high, turn on defroster and let run 4 minutes or so. Rub hand on windshield, above vents. If it feels greasy then it's most likely antifreeze/water mix leaking from heater core.
