So Techtron is good stuff???
Sorry if I'm but after hearing of this product while searching the site I thought I would try a bottle. My LS6 has 24k miles on it and is running fine. Should I leave well enough alone or would you recommend I pour a bottle in the tank (I'm about due for a fill up). I always use Shell 93 octane by the way.
Thanks!

Texaco gas also has Techron too after the merger creating Chevron/Texaco company.
Quick Silver Z: By all accounts Techron is one of the best additives on the market today. I'm agree with TEXHAWKO. It can't hurt, but I wouldn't recommend using too much either. If your not experiencing problems, then I would recommend a bottle of Techron at every oil change.

I have only had this car for a month. I know the original owner took great care of her but I have no idea what brand of gasoline he used. As I stated, I'm having no problems with the car, just thought I could give the treatment a try. As long as it can't harm anything I'll use it but If I'm going to mess something up by using it when it's not really needed then I'll stick it on the shelf for later.
Thanks guys, I really appreciate the good advise and info!
I use Chevron and Shell gas; and have poured in a bottle of Techron. I still have the gas gage suddenly drop intermitently at a little less than 1/2 tank. I'm not sure techron is a miracle cure.

Try a bottle of seafoam, drive car till pretty much empty, add seafoam at the gas station and put 6-7 gallons in and that is, it should clear that out, it worked for me
some people have had fuel gage problems including me (slow to read) I use techron about every 5th or 6th fillup and problem has been getting better
I had the same issue..I would have the gauge just drop to "Empty"..
Used techron for the next two fill ups...now use it every 2-3 fill ups to maintain..problem gone...the maintaing by putting every 2-3 tanks is needed as if I neglect it...the problem resurfaces, in fact now it even says it cures some fuel gauge problems right on the bottle...the guys who make techron must read this forum...

if you dont have fuel guage problems, 1 bottle every 6 months is fine to keep your fuel system clean
