Default VATS help!

i was in the mountains today and decided to shut the car off and get out and take a picture or 2 (i was 30 miles in the middle of nowhere!!!) i got back into the car and went to start it up and nothing happened! the "security" light blinked its *** off i got code p1631 and b2723 from the dic... i fought with it and after 10 minutes or so, it finally started! it will give me b2723 with both keys. after i got it started, the security light came on and stayed on until i stopped again. now the car works fine and no codes and no more light on.

is there any way to bypass the VATS??? has anyone had this problem before? what can i do to fix it? i am all ears!

sure; cut the two wires going to the ignition switch contacts and hard-wire in the correct resistor value across the cut wires. But that also defeats the anti-theft system

You may have an ignition lock that is going bad. With the PASS Key system you need to remember if you have an incident where the car does not start with the correct key that you have to wait for at least 3.5 minutes for the system to time out. If you try to start the car within that time period the system will reset the timer to the longest duration. Its a damn good antitheft system.
