Default Is this a good A/C fix?

I suspect the refrigerant is low and that it has a leak. This is the fix I'd like to try, from another thread. Do you recommend it?

"Try putting in a can of the stop leak stuff followed immediately with a can or two of r134."

you might want put in some leak detector or have someone check for the leak before you add a stop leak product. it is my opinion that with the small orfices involved, you might want to find out where the leak is. maybe all it needs is a tightening. i think leak fix products in a/c units are short term or used for hiding a problem before selling. just my opinion!

The stop leak works by filling up small holes.....and the AC system is full of small orfices that get clogged up with the stuff. We see this every week where someone has used it & clogged up everything else resulting in $$$$ high cost repair when it may have just been a small seal and fixed for a few bucks.

The stuff does do what it is advertised to do! Clog up small holes!
