In the past, I've always had the bleed pipes with a separate gasket you insert betweet the pipes and the head. However, I just converted an engine from early LS1 to LS6 setup, and the new bleed pipes DIDN'T come with gaskets, however, they seem to have a small o-ring integrated into the pipe.
I'm being very paranoid about this, but do I need to put seals on, or did they switch to a new design with built-in seals???? Shop manual still shows are removable gasket at all four corners.
David,
I took a look at my manuals and all of the ones from 1997 through 2004 show a gasket even the truck engines show the same. Maybe they gave you the wrong part?
I think mine must be the LS2 style, as the manual shows only an o-ring, not a gasket. Of course, since the LS2 and LS6 heads are identical, they are interchangable.

I guess I'll find out when I fire it up.......
David,
Just checked the 2005 Service Manual and the pipe has O rings.
