Is there an aftermarket balancer available and is it worth it?

......Any info is appreciated.

Plenty of them available - not worth the labor unless you are installing one as part of a H/C upgrade, or at least as part of a Cam install - otherwise the benefit is not worth the effort

Dude, I am doing a head cam swap. That was why I had the other thread on the oil pump.

Btw, any resolution on your deal and what balancer did you go with?

If you are dripping bucks, ATI super damper, also available in 10% underdrive version. $450ish.

ASP, Powerbond, SLP (same as powerbond) all good also.

Worth doing while you are in there, plus putting the stocker back on after pulling seems to be a curse around here.

LOL, Oh Yeah, DUH on me I forgot, seriously I did - my memory's good, but short - apparently extremely short

Anyway, I put a used ASP 10% underdrive pulley on mine (and on a side note, I have a tendency to confuse ASP w/ USP, as in H&K USP for the gun enthusiests out there) anyway . . .

I'm still working on resolving my oil pressure issue - I'm fairly convinced, and totally hoping, that my CURRENT Melling pump has a problem w/ it that isn't allowing the internal valve to work / bypass the way it should - New Melling pump is on order, and Melling wants to look at my current pump

HOPEFULLY, I have things put back together this weekend, BUT, my list of weekend "chores" (self-imposed at that) keeps growing

I just did the powerbond, it is about half the cost of the ATI. Easier to pull later than the factory unit as well. O yeah no heads and cam my stocker just came off the crank snout!

HK huh?

You mean like my HK 4, with 4 quick interchangeable barrels and my HK P9 combat, both of which made in Germany and not made in another country for import to the US??

LOL.

I have heard that replacing my stock balancer with the same can create some diff as it is a press fit and good only once.

SOOOOO, I was thinking maybe a new GM balancer or a better aftermarket..........Non underdrive, stock size...
