Default Does your car sound exotic with your X-pipe??

I want a basani X-pipe to go with my headers but I DO NOT want it to sound like a viper, I still want the deep bad *** muscle car sound, does your X-pipe eliminate the muscle sound?? If so I am going to modify my stock H-pipe and make the actual holes in the "H" a lot bigger.

The x pipe will only smooth out the exhaust pulses. It will have less of a motor boat sound at idle and less popping on decelerations but otherwise should sound the same.

I may have a Bassani X pipe for sale, heading down to LG today to look at complete header system. I would sell mine for 200.00 and you can use my lift for the install. I'm in Norman.

Smooth out? Noo not really

I have TPIS LTs, Random Tech High flow cars and X-pipe, when I had GHL Bullets exhaut the sound was like a TRUE American Muscle car with a loppy cam at idle, Rev the engine up and it sounded like , at WOT it woke up the cars around. Pop-n-gurgle with downshift and decel, it was great.

Now I run Straight pipes, it just sets off car alarms at start up, and wakes up the next county at WOT.

oh and YES there is Droun Lots of droun, between 2500 and 4000 rpms.

and since you are going to Borla Stingers, the sound will be about what I just described. Dont be fooled, it will be LOUD.

So if we wanna keep those sounds, what should one do? I have TTS headers sitting in my room and SLP Loudmouths on my car.

x-pipe, lt's, and no cats, makes my stock engined car sound very exotic. "trumpety" is a word that comes to mind, even if it is a made up word.

What kind of cat back do you have??? Mine will prob sound a bit different then cause I will have hi flo's, I guess if you also have a true x-pipe over a non-true x-pipe the sound would be different (I know that prob does not make since)

The Viper sounds like *** unless it has some work done to it.

I also agree about the comment about headers, offroad X, and a catback sounding "exotic". See sig for vids.

I went from an H-pipe to an X-pipe (ONLY modification) and it definitely does sound more exotic. It sounds like a cross between a ferrari and a muscle car. I prefer the H-pipe sound honestly.

If you had to choose whick x-pipe you would get would you get a Corsa X-pipe OR a Bassani X-pipe??? I MAY just cut my stock h-pipe open in the center of the actual "H" and drill out the small hole to match the actual size and have it welded back toghter instead of spending $200 on a X-pipe but I will hear what you guys have to say about that first...
