today at the chevie agency, the tech reccommended flushing my engine with a machine.can anybody tell me if there is any advavtage to this process or is it a way to extract some friendly cash from a sucker(me).i change my oil every 3000 miles. would I benefit from this prcedure :chevy :flag (stars and stripes forever)
Yours is nice and clean but on really sludgy engines it can break some of that nasty stuff loose and actually cause major damage. Some of that sludge is already in the oil galleys , past the pump and filter. Guess where it goes when it break sloose? Right into the bearings!
Now if they were talking about flushing the transmission, THAT'S a whole different story. I would recommend doing that when you go to change your transmission fluid and filter. This flush actually gets ALL the old fluid out of the trans and the torque convertor. My Chevy dealer charges about $100 to do this process plus the parts. (filter and trans fluid)
Go to http://www.envirolution.com , This system is used at many dealerships around the country. I would call their tech support with any questions you may have.
