Considering upgrade to BBK 80mm throttle body Is this the choice of most vette owners ? Is it a good mod to do ? HP gains 5 to 7 hp ? for the money? Any input on this or substitute throttle body Yea or Nay  :yesnod:
I don't think the $400 80mm thottle body is in any way cost effective mod when upgrading the intake gives it more than sufficient airflow.I think stock is 76mm. I could only justify it when it becomes a bottleneck, after heads/cam,headers etc...$400 for 5 hp? :nono: :nonod:    :seeya
Let me just tell you what a couple of well known people from well known tuners have told me, "until you go to a stroker the stock ThrottleBody flows enough for any Heads and Cam setup". Kind of interesting these two tuners have put out the fastest C5's on this forum.
I don't know if DRM was one of the tuners you talked to, but I know they don't recommend the bigger or ported tb unless you are doing a stroker.
From what I've read throttle response/crispness will be the biggest gain. Also, could be worth up to 10 rwhp imo. I got 5 from my ported stocker and that's all the way from 3500 up. I know of some people who didn't gain anything, so it's a bit of a gamble. The only downside, aside from the cost, is setup time. You'll have to tune the electronics to get the BBK right.
