I really don't think so.. with the 3.73s you will be able to launch at a lower rpm, dump the clutch, & not have the "BOG" that goes with 3.42s.. it will just pick right up..

When I went to 4.10 is my Camaro... it was easier to launch then with the 3.42..

With a little practice.. High 1.7xx I think are possible..

C5; Is there any perceivable gear whine with the steeper gears?

If you have a 6 speed, no re-calibration is necessary. The speedo runs off a gear/sensor in the dif.

Automatics are a different story due to shift speeds, etc.

I have tested mine a number of times and it is on the money. Tire size is a different story. That will throw your speedo off.
If it's accurate for M6s, shouldn't it be accurate for A4s? They have the same sensors/gears, right?

Pepper, not a sound comes from the gears no whining no nothing.

OK I can confirm the speedo is accurate, got pulled over by NJ State Police doing 90mph. He asked if I knew how fast I was going. I replied No can you tell me, he replied 92 mph. So I guess the gears did not affect my speedo, LOL.

Nilla, the concern of the A4 is not the speedo, but the shift points. It seems that the speedo reads OK, but the shift points are off, especially under WOT.

My 3.73s go in this Friday. Can't wait given C5 PIGs reaction. From my discussion with Dave at CARTEK, he claims on 6speeds no re-calibration is required...only A4s. later guys...

Mark,I'm glad you finally got your gears, now open your wallet again and go buy some ET streets like I just did,my car would not hook with 3:73's and drag radials, you have more power than me,traction will definitely be a problem, especially with the cool weather.Too bad you won't be around this weekend, temps are supposed to be in the forties Friday and Saturday,I'll be at E-town testing out my new ET streets.

Aren't the shift points done at Speeds and not at RPMs? IE, 1-2 is at 40 WOT....for dicussions sake. That means the shift points should be effected either. Now if it shifts off of RPM, that would be a different story.
