Defeating Instant-on Radar
Some interesting tactics for defeating instant-on radar are provided in the following thread.

Combat tactics Mr. Ryan... :flag
Use concealment (other vehicles in a pack), keep to the right, stay w/i ten of the posted limit, watch for brake lights miles up the road, and on a lonely road at night find yourself a "linebacker."
Let them get a good mile or two up the road and pace them, watching for their brakes-and checking your '6 for upcoming vehicles.
And be careful. MD and many other states have new unmarked 'stangs, and more are getting rid of the lightbars.

If you want to defeat instant on Radar, you need to buy the Phantom Radar Jammer sold in most automobile magazines. Otherwise you can buy a good radar detector and it will give you about 1-1.5 seconds worth of warning.

I got an instant on ticket (86 in a 70) at 7am heading to Mike Norris to have my headers installed!!
Too bad the cop did not get me a half hour earlier... he would have had me at 110

I was painted with an instant on laser by a CHP. It was at night and he was in the medium somewhat cloaked from site. Luckly my escort 8500 had picked up Xa band radar in the area so I was doing the speed limit. However, no radar detector V1, escort, Bell etc would have detected this laser cause the CHP painted his target as they passed by him. Have to agree with what others have said be road smart look for possible speed traps, and be alert. :seeya

hey zone block....where did you get lasered by the CHP? I didn't think the CHP had gone laser yet? Was it in the AV?

FWIW.. Night is one of the times I don't speed more than 15 over. You just can't see the cops.. blew by one at 120-130 once. Atty got me off, but I don't speed at night any more. Laser loves night shots since you need to be stationary to shoot it.

Yep it was on the 14 freeway going through Palmdale. I was surprised when my escort buzzed laser, and looked to the left and saw a CHP in the medium. :seeya
