Default time for brake pads, suggestions?

hi, checked out the brakes today and i definitly need pads all the way around. I dont want to spend a ton of money, however i don't want to slack on the performance output either. how are the stock pads as far as cost/efficiency goes? is there and aftermarket pad out there that is more performance/cost efficient out there?

btw i have drilled and slotted rotors if that makes a difference.

thanks for your time

I think this comes up 2 or 3 times a week but here goes again.
http://www.gmpartshouse.com/ Delco Ceramic or
Raybestos Ceramic quiet stop (low dust) at NAPA.
If you are an Auto X er or racer type or just like the dirty German car wheel look go metallic.

Got tired of the dust so I went with the Delco ceramic pads and if you didn't tell me that the pads were not stock, I would never know except for the fact that my wheels stay clean for more than a day or two. Some have said that they fade at track events, but for the street, quiet and clean are what I am looking for.

It depends on what you want. I used Hawk pads and hated the dusting, actually worse than the stock Z06. I went to Raybestos, and fixed the dusting, but they would not stop! I now have EBC Red Stuff and love them. They stop like the Hawks, but do not dust nearly as bad. Best of luck to you on this endeavor!

DELCO Ceramics is what I put on, even the dust is white and doesn't show up much.

I run Hawk HPS's on two of my cars, one that I autocross. I like them a lot, but they do dust a bit more than stock. I decided to try EBC Greens on my 2000 hardtop and have been very pleased with them. They bite well (about the same as HPS's) but seem to dust less than a friends stock ZO-6.

I will probably continue to use the EBC Greens for street and performance. I have not tried any ceramics, so I can not offer any comparison.

Good luck... GUSTO
