Sorry guys for bringing this back from the dead...

But, I will be attempting this real soon with popping the ball joints. I don't want to drill.

Any additional comments about the process?

What I wound up doing, after splintering numerous 2x4s was to use a steel shaft about 3/4" in diameter. Smacked on that w/ a 4-lb hammer, and the lower control arm would eventually come loose. Also, some PB Catalyst didn't hurt...
