Default wheel well sound deadning

I'm doing the wheel well sound deadning mod on my vert. Not too hard, but as it's stated in the tech tips I stuffed the fiberglass batt stuff in there where that gap is heading toward the cabin and then did the reflectix on the wheel well liner.
Is there any issue w/ the batts getting wet when others have done this mod? Just wondering, but I see Mike Mercury did it among others and it significantly cut down on noise.

I was also concerned with stuffing my front and back wheel wells with insulation as well. Any water would be trapped and would stink after a few weeks and may cause rust on any metal objects. I did my rear fender wells with Frost King and I did shove fiberglass insulation in the "hole" behind the passenger compartment/gas tank area but I removed the extra insulation that I stuck every where else that I could stick it. The more I thought about it I decided it was not a good Idea so I went with one layer of FK in back only since it would not hold the water like a thick batting would.

Yep; I did that exact wheel well mod (an Evil-Twin mod) and haven't had any problems.

But, keep in mind that my C5 is not my daily driver.

Has anybody used expansion foam in place of batting to do this mod?

what about just putting the fiberglass batts in a garbage bag and seal it up prior to stuffing?

I used Ensolite instead of Fiberglass batting.

Thanks for the info guys. I did decide to use thin garbage bags to cover the batting material on the very bottom of the wheel well area and then raw batting at the top where it seemed water never reached. I could see when I replaced the wheel well liner it was a bit difficult to line up the holes again and I paid more notice that there is a gap at the bottom of the wheel well where water could get in. I applied some weatherstripping in that are to try to create a better seal which helped some.
Where would one purchase Ensolite btw? Lowes/Home Depot? What is it exactly?

Thanks again, and I start on the driver's side today.
Any other drains to avoid clogging in this area on a vert?

Default soundproffing insde the wheel well liners

I am considering this as well. Some questions:

Will placing the fiberglass in thin plastic bags for water protection reduce it's sound deadening ability ?

Did you use loose fill fiberglass like what is blown in in plastic bags, or did you use 4" bats ?

Anyone tried using thin plastic bags filled with the foam peanuts used for shipping ? These would not absorb water.......but would they be as effective at sound deadening as fiberglass ?

I used the bats and cut/wrapped them in garbage bags. Not sure about the plastic effect on sound deadning though. I'm not entirely convinced it helped given that I have a vert. Cheap to try though so not much to lose. The wheel well reflectix mod definitely helped some on road noise though.

If you really want to cut down on road noise get rid of your Run flats.

Lowe's Home Improvment store. If I remember correctly the reflectix was down the insulation isle and the Frost king was down the H/C duct isle. It took me a while to find FK.

Why not buy some dynomat or rubber roof (ice barrier) and stick it on fender well, that will help dampen noise and no worry about moisture.

I've done the rear wheel-well stuffing that Evil-Twin suggested:

Although probably not needed, I stuffed the insulation into garbage bags for moisture protection.

BTW, 2003 and 2004 C5's have that same wheel-well area blocked off.
