Starter Location

Where is the starter located on a LS1? reason I am asking is someone told me it was buried under the intake. Is this right? Surely not.

Noooooooooooooooooooooo, it isnt! It's on the passengers side where allllll the other ones are. If you have the stock exhaust, it isnt difficult. If you have headers, it really tight. You will have to drop a header to get to it.

The Northstar (cadillac) engines had them under the intake (don't know if they still do)

just drop the h-pipe and its right there on the right side. it takes longer getting the damn exhaust lined up again than anything. buy the header flange studs first though. Trust me, you'll regret it if you don't.

I'm not needing to change it (yet). I was in a conversation and the guy thought the location was under the intake.
