Oil Pressure Question

Default Oil Pressure Question
I have '98 w/ 36,000 miles. The oil pressure guage maxed out at 80psi. I had anew oil sending unit put in a year ago. Same problem again. Another new oil sending unit. Now at idle speed it shows 29 psi.At 1500 rpm's it runs about 40 psi. Is the guage off? What is normal oil pressure @ idle speed? Once again thanks. Great site, I love it.

When my engine oil is at operating temperature I get the numbers you are now reading...

Yep, me too. 29/30 @ hot idle, and 40 to 44lbs down the road or over 2000 rpm
