Default Remote Bleeder Installation

Does anyone use loctite to hold in the screw to the slave cylinder? It has a copper washer for sealing but I am concerned that the screw could come loose since its such a beeeaaaaccchhhh to get to if it does.

When doing Brad's clutch it looks like he used teflon tape..and in some places we used hi-temp thread sealant...

Default Remote Bleeder Info

Quote from SteveCT - often the remote's leak, I don't like to use them

I have had mine for close to 2 years, no leaks yet. I try to bleed the clutch once a month. This is the first I have heard of one leaking.

So when you say "often the remotes leak" - do you mean this happened to you many times? Leak from where?

vettenuts - I did not use locktite. The copper washer seals to the slave cyl. and the compression nut seals the line. Just be sure to secure the line away from heat and chaffing with zip ties. I covered the bleed line with short pieces of 3/8" split loom wire conduit to protect at each point where I zip tied it.

I was thinking of using this on the threads that go into the slave cylinder. My concern is the slave end as it is so hard to get to.

The crush washer is all you need imo. If you do use locktite, dont use more than a drop. You do not want any of it inside the slave.

Just spoke to Permatex, they recommended this which seals and locks the threads as well.
