Default Help!! Kinked Fuel Line!!

When reinstalling my driveline the fuel line got caught on the shifter area of the tourqe tube and was kinked pretty bad.

My question is can I cut this line and put in a piece of hose or do I need to replace the entire line.

Thanks!

Bob K.

With approx. 58psi of pressure I'd think twice about cutting and inserting a piece of hose. Probably better off replacing.

Different problem I know but there was a TSB out for fixing a kinked fuel line

I'd go for a replacement

This might help:

Vehicle is Difficult to Fill with Fuel or Filling Station Pump Shuts Off Before Tank is Full (Replace Tank Filler Hose) #04-06-04-031 - (Apr 22, 2004)
Vehicle is Difficult to Fill with Fuel or Filling Station Pump Shuts Off Before Tank is Full (Replace Fuel Tank Filler Hose)

1997-2004 Chevrolet Corvette
Condition

Some customers may comment that their vehicle is difficult to fill with fuel or when filling, the pump continuously shuts off before the tank is full.
Cause

This condition may be caused by back pressure within the fuel filler hose. This back pressure trips the fuel nozzle prior to filling the tank, or results in a hard to fill condition.
Correction

Replace the fuel tank filler hose with P/N 10353139. This new hose has been redesigned to provide smoother flow conditions within the section. Use the procedure listed below.

1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in the General Information sub-section of the Service Manual.
2. Remove the left rear tire and wheel.
3. Remove the left rear wheelhouse panel.
4. Loosen the lower hose clamp through access hole in body using ¼ drive ratchet and extension.
5. Loosen the upper hose clamp.
6. Remove the fuel tank filler hose.
7. Install the new fuel tank filler hose.
8. Tighten the upper hose clamp.
Tighten

Tighten the fuel filler hose clamp to 4N•m(35 lb in).
9. Tighten the lower hose clamp through access hole in body using ¼ drive ratchet and extension.
Tighten

Tighten the fuel filler hose clamp to 4N•m(35 lb in).
10. Install the left rear wheelhouse panel.
11. Install the left rear tire and wheel.
12. Lower the vehicle.

I've got a spare line, I believe they say 'not repairable on them'; for anyone else viewing, the fuel line, brake lines out back, and the harness up front are critical items to watch during any driveline installation

First choice of course would be to replace it.... not really that bad to do, but those clips are a pain to deal with..

Second option that may work.... cut the line, use a flaring tool on both ends to give the hose something to grab on, and just use high pressure rubber fuel line. As long as you keep the distance pretty short, i dont think you will have an issue... my.02

Hose, Fuel Filler
Seems this TSB deals with the fuel filler hose. BOB K (OP) seems to have a problem with one of the nylon high pressure fuel line "pipes" (GM term).

Default It's the fuel iine in the torque tube

Actually it's the metal fuel line in the torque tube tunnel.

SteveCT has one that I'm getting. We just need to set the timing up.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions.

I never could get a dealer to order one, so I never got a part number. They all said that the fuel line arrived bent. Try finding someone who is parting out a C5.
