Default Weird Fuel Pressure Gauge Problem

I have an autometer fpg mounted on a pod, but I didn't install it. It reads a very steady ~58 lbs all the time, but when you put the brake pedal to the floor, the needle drops instantaneously to zero. The light stays lit, but the reading falls out completely. I'm not loosing pressure; it's like the power feed to the gauge is somehow getting cut out when I hit the brake. I'm assuming it has to do with where it is getting power, but I haven't torn into it yet.

Has anyone else ever seen this?

This actually sounds like the usual thing: grounding problem.
I'd bet the ground on the guage return is getting swamped by
the return on brake lights. Should be pretty easy to trace -
the pillar covers just pull right off...

I'm thinking that is what it is too, but it does another weird thing. I can push the pedal, and the brakes will come on. However, the needle doesn't move until I push the petal all the way to the floor.

Just really odd.

Oh, now I get it. Y'know, if you stick your head under the
dash, I'll bet you'll find that the freakin' brake pedal is actually
pulling on the wires or crimping them, or some crap like that.
