I was the first to say it and I will say it again. Go with the Belanger. People just don't want to pay the money for them. I have been planning to buy them for a year now (I am still waiting for my 02' Z06). I almost bought some for my 00' coupe but, I thought my Z would be in sooner. I call a lot of shops over the last year and know one has anything bad to say about them, unless they haven't tried them. The reason everyone has Tpis is because they were the 1st out! :yesnod: And for a good while there were the only thing you could buy. They also make the best Viper header. They add 50hp to a stock viper. :yesnod: Spend the money. You won't be complaining about leaks........

Nate, the principals of header physics is constant.

A 4 into 1 long tube tuned header design will always outperform a Tri-Y design like the belanger. For a stock motor on the street the belanger tri-y design will do fine, and infact may be optimal if no major mods were done. If someone ever wanted to do heads/cam etc, then they will be ahead of the game by going with a 4 into 1 design. I'm personaly waiting to see what SLP offers in thier stainless 4 into 1 tuned design. Should be very sweet.

Could you throw up some dyno charts of a stock C5 where you have tested all the various headers you speak about, doing back to back dyno runs on the same C5?

That would be quite helpful.

Thanks.

Nate,
How do I get a set of the belangers? Do you have them in stock? Are the different for the later C5's (I have a 2002 Z06) like some of the others? I'd really like to get a set. Oh...what sort of coating do they have? and what are the made of? I've got a Halltech sidewinder on the way, so I'm hoping that between the intake and the headers I will have a notable increase in performance. Thanks for any info.

Scott, I do have these in stock. They are jet hot coated and look sweet!
Headers and intake are the biggest mods for hp. You WILL feel a BIG difference!

Thanks, I try to tell it like it is...

Kewlbrz- I agree, the 4-1 design will probably do better for head and cam cars but I think most tri y designs out there dont use the bigger primaries. I will dyno everything in sight once our dyno comes in. I will personally dyno the TPIS and Belangers on my 427 once its in the car. Cant wait to break in the dyno! Wish I had a Engine dyno too for some of these mods....would be nice.

I find this post most interesting.
I've been researching the header question since last year and I personally LOVE the look, quality and performance gains of the Belanger tri-Y header.

TPIS seems to suffer some quality issues but offer good value and solid performance. TTS seem a better quality header and very good perf gains.
However, my choice is Belanger. They cost more but I'm certain Nate will put together a great GP.

IMHO, the C5 is a world class vehicle and my vote goes for Belanger quality and performance :D :D :D :D

Anyone know what a dealership would say about any of these headers regarding warranty work? My car is brand new, and I would like to keep my warranty intact. Anyone here had any contact with a dealer on this issue?

I have the same question as LymanSS. I still have warranty left on this car and don't want to jeopardizse it.

Same question.
I was talking to a parts guy at a dealer and he said that it would not void the warranty but if something happened because of the installed headers it would void it. Which I can understand, but he said some dealers might give you problems. I guess I would call and ask the dealer that you want to take the car too, but if your left head light doesn't go up, they can't say your headers broke the gear or something...

Knowing my dealer, that's exactly the excuse he'd come up with. :D

By the end of November, I should have a new "surprise" package in my vert, which will be using the Belangers LT headers. I'll definately let everyone know how they work out.
