those tiny little lights are really starting to aggravate me. I'm trying to replace them with LED's since I have some on hand which I think will fit the socket. but how the heck to you get them out of there? the service manual says "remove bulb from socket" easier said than done! I put about 5 tons of force on that thing and it wouldn't budge. finally the bulb shattered in my hand! so I've got the remnants of it stuck up in that socket which need badly to come out. did I just hose myself? if anyone has conquered the most sadistic lightbulb in a C5 please let me know how to get myself out of this one.
I wish I could help you. My problem is that the vanity mirror is falling out of the visor. Right now I'm using clips to hold it together. You would think that anyone buying a vette would by default have vanity issues. Yet the equipment is lacking. go figure.
I finally did get that bulb out. the broken one I just broke up more with a small screwdriver until all of the remaining pieces fell out. for the other side I taped over the button to keep the lights off so I don't short anything, then I stuck my small flathead screwdriver up into the socket with the bulb and was able to pry it out from behind. I can't believe those bulbs are so hard to get out of there. they just pull strait out, but there's no way to get a grip on them. Not the best design!
