Default Transmission/ DTE brace/ fluids ???

#1 First, what the heck is this? (See pic). It is from the over-flow hose on the tranny. But I didn't notice anything connected to it. But it looks too clean to have not been connected to anything.

#2 I have 3 of the 4 struts on the DTE brace preloaded. Is it OK to leave the bottom driver side loose until I get the tranny in and fluid in?

#3 Is Synthetic fluids good to use in a tranny and differential. Or should I just use plain regular fluids? The tranny is a fully built level 5 tranny. (If that matters on the clutches)

#1 - I believe that is a breather line for the tranny that is not connected to anything - leave it loose as it is -it is OK

#2 - Yes, you have to leave the 4th brace loose, B/C you can't fill the tranny w/ fluid IF the brace is in place

#3 - Dexron III is the correct tranny fluid - I don't know if they make a SYNTHETIC Dexron III - for rear differential, Synthetic lube is recommended.

I was thinking of the Royal Purple synthetic tranny fluid, and the royal purple synthetic 75/90 gear lube.

Has anyone run the Mobile 1 synthetic tranny fluid? I am just wondering if synthetic makes the clutches slip?

If this is a DTE Stage V, you will instantly void your warranty with the incorrect fluid. My Stage IV requires Redline 75W-140 with extra limited slip lube per the DTE instructions. I would call Phil tomorrow, don't put anything in the rear until you speak with Phil. I don't have a Stage V so I don't know if anything is different.

As for the arms, I would leave them all loose until you get it in place if you can't get all of them now. Don't only tighten three.

No it's not a DTE stage 5 differential.
