I have had a bassani exhaust on my C5 for about 1.5 years and it's been great, until a few weeks ago when I noticed a pinging sound comming from the rear of the car. I checked the exhaust and found that the inlet exhaust pipe on the muffler had broken at the weld joint on both mufflers! :cry I was very upset considering the money that I paid for this system. I called Bassani expecting them to be uncooperative, but they were great, and they are going to ship me a brand new pair, no charge at all. So anyway, not a big deal, but I just wondered if anyone else had a similar problem? Thanks..
In your opinion, how does the Bassani differ from the stock exhaus? Why did you choose it over the most popular Corsa Indy System? I haven't been able to listen to the Bassani as no one has one in my area.
Mash
These folks have always been a class act all the way back to the early 80's when the did 3-wheeler exhaust systems. They will get my exhaust system as long as they continue to make them. Now if they would only make a system for the 2500HD :)
I, along with several others here, had the exact same problem. Bassani treated all of us just the way they did you, brand new complete systems at no charge. Bassani even called me a week later to ask if it was okay for them to send fed-x to my house to pickup the old system! Bassani has changed their manufacturing method and added some gussets to strenghten this area. Certainly a class act that stands completely behind their product. I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone who asks what kind of exhaust I use...
Well the Bassani differs from the stock exhaust in that it has 4 nice large polished ports on the rear of the car for a visual difference. The sound difference is a very subjective area for people. I have heard the Indy, and it sounds really mean and very cool. I have to say that I got the Bassani because it has a more "exotic" sound to it, not quite as deep or loud as the indy but EXTREMELY  !! I would recommend it to anyone who wanted a nice system. All I can say is go listen to all the systems at a vette meet or something, there are a lot of them and none of them will give you much of a performance gain anyway unless you do a ton of mods. Good Luck.
I bought my Bassani as my first mod. I purchased their fully polished system with quad tips. I also bought/installed their x-pipe.
The system sounds even better now with my TPIS headers.
I wanted something different from the crowd menatlity and Bassani with its large quad tips and logo etched on each tip and both mufflers fille dthe bill.
I just found the welds busted on mine two days ago.
I didn't even get to call them yet, but is good to know that they are willing to deal with this problem in a good maner.
