Yea Darth, I'm pilin' on too!! What happened?? You let us Z500 packages down. WTF??? were you doing???? I think I can take you.....he he hehe :jester
Snowman ran 12.21 @ 115 MPH when we ran eachother.
Nineball, I'm gonna try to adjust the Master, to see how that helps.
I also saw video & pics of my runs. I had whitish smoke coming out of the exhaust. I don't know if I hurt the motor or what. I'm having that checked out tomorrow. That may explain my loss of power. We'll see.
As far as this thing with John H is concerned, I'll be damned if people are gonna throw me under the bus because of their beef with him. John H never directly worked on my car throughout the entire process, nor did he ever dyno my car himself. So he couldn't "Doctor" any of the results. Kyle (House of Speed) Is the one who built & tuned my car. I was always there, & I'd know if there were shinanagins. I'm a customer just like anybody else & want to make sure I'm getting what I'm paying for. We've dyno'd my car on 3 different dynos in 2 states. My car makes the power. I just didn't run well on Sunday. But then again, neither did any of the other guys in my group. Even the Pro racers have bad days. We'll get everything dialed in & I'll make another trip to the track & lay down a decent pass. On motor & on the gas.
Just in case Snowman does not check this post again, the best time I remember him running was a 12.0x at around 118 mph. Actually a pretty good time for the trap speed. I know he's got a mild cam in the car, but I was expecting more mph. He was not running his new NOS system (at least he wasn't in the run what you brung class).
Hey Darth,I agree that everyone has bad days at the track.Next time don't put so much pressure on yourself by posting dyno numbers, this is why dyno numbers don't mean crap to me,especially uncorrected figures.Anbody can make there car dyno higher just dyno the car with a 2.73 gear and open exhaust etc,the dyno is a tuning aid,not for bragging rights. When you get everything sorted out and with good air you should run solid low to mid elevens.Everyone should do there talikng at the track not the dyno, what good is a 422 or 434 that dynos 460-480 if it runs slower than heads and cam cars at the track.
You are the man because you raced you own car! You didn't have someone else do it for you like the Viper boys. I was there and saw you run and the first thing that came to mind was, "he doesn't know how to drive it yet". I got to the finials in my 00' coupe (stock class). And, when I would win, people asked me how did I launch it, what tire pressser, where do I shift. Thing like that take time. You ran faster the Snowman's stroker. He probably needs to get use to his car too. Both of you did good.
My best time of the day was 11.98 at 120. RT's were good, 60's were in the low 1.80's which is a personal best for me. ET and MPH were not what I expected. I was hoping for low 11's or very high 10's and MPH more like 125-130 so I have tuning to do and driving practice to do. My car is tuned for nitrous (richer) and that hurt me some. I am also still learning how to drive this car (as is Darth with his). We are good friends in case you don't know and we've done some business together as well...he's a total gentleman and delivered MORE than he promised. SO I'm not in the Darth bashing game...he'll probably leave me in the dust our next time out. :D
Geez who would have ever thought this post would have brought so much attention. Anyways, Darth just got home from work, got your message and I will call you tomorrow. Sorry bout the runs, but that don't mean JACK, you and I both know what that beast of yours is capable of running. I firmly bet (game 6) that you will not be disspointed with the Cartek Clutch and the results she will yield. At the last Corvette Challenge I found that dumping the clutch at 3500rpms gave my best 60' to date of 1.78. I just wish my car didn't have that false knock issue which was robbing me of quite some HP (still ran respectable 11.8's all day.) With some minor adjustments and practice I'm sure you will get into the SUUUUUBBB 11's. BTW: I think Scorp was just excited and curious to see what your car ran, that is why I posted this topic. I think most of us on this forum just couldn't wait till you posted your new results on that awesome machine. Sorry you were disapointed, but so was I. May the Force be with ya!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!LMAO.
Ohh hey listen John did you change your suspension? If you did what did you change and do you wanna get rid of the stock one?
It's all good. I haven't changed the suspension yet, all I'm doing is adding the T1 sway bars(that I'm powder coating RED, I can't handle that Blue) I'm actually trading my stock sway bars to No Mercy for his T1's. I should have them on by the weekend.
But I did get BIG FUGGIN BRAKES from DILUSI MOTORSPORTS, though.
60 - 0 in 86 ft. See the Sig
I'll put up a seperate post with pix soon.
Darth & Snowman, hang in there it will come. It takes some trial and error to get things sorted out. Thanks for posting & Thanks for Racing!! I always like reading both or your posts so keep it going guys. It's part of the reason I enjoy having a corvette... It's for racing... and having fun with.
I would like to visit you guys this fall/winter if another event is upcoming. I always like to have an excuse to get out of the cold MN winters!
It was great seeing you at the track Sunday and I have to say with all the running around, I did not see your car run. I was having fits with the heat and the changing needed in my jetting of the Juice. As Pauly Shore says, "You got to Weeeze the Juice..."
All in all I was happy with my results of the day but could have done without my missing the shift. That never happens. When are you going to start Road Racing now that you have all the right parts...???
Let me know when you want the alignment specs to kick some ****.
