I'm interested also!!!! He spouts off the dyno #s all the time the moment after they happen, where are the track times!!! <Eager>

Hell, that almighty 446.9RWHP & 418.4 RWTQ N/A and 581.9 RWHP & 688.1 RWTQ NO2 should be easily into the god damn 10s with that tire setup. :yesnod:

I read elsewhere he ran low 12.30's at about 120 mph. Hopefully he'll chime in and gives us the full scoop.

Hmm, I will have to check out the video tape I have, but I though I remembered him running in the 115-116 range. Please forgive me if I am wrong, but I am pretty sure. I will be ripping videos of the event tonight, so I will double check then.

I saw him on his last run in and I think he ran a 12.00@120. He lost but had the fastest et.

That's right. I beat him at the tree in the eliminations and put him on the trailer. He was great about it. Another day another time and all of that. Lighten up a little you guys.

scorp508, what the hell is your beef? You make a smart Azz reply & then feel the need to reply again "TTT" just to send the thread to the top so "everybody can see your post" agian? Not to mention the reply to the thread on the ZR1 board. Did I do something to you that I don't know about? Geez, 17,500+ posts?? I wonder what you do ALL day?

And now for the actual topic of discussion.
C5Pig, yes I got the clutch on Thurs, but didn't get my car back until 6:30 Fri night. So I had NO time to practice or get used to the CARTEK( It's ALOT different than stock) I only got about 4 passes at the event & couldn't figure out what worked best. I either bogged it out of the hole or missed a gear, & then found myself Granny shifting, trying to get down the track without missing a cog. But racing is racing. I will have to get to the track, to figure it out. I'm really disappointed that I didn't get a full "good" run in. :(
The Corvettes were group into only 3 classes, which was a mistake. Stock, N/A & Run what you brung. Which meant that if I ran my car on the gas, I'd have to run against cars that were running high 9's. There were about 6 of us that would have gotten killed with the Big Dogs, so in order to be more competetive we decided to run N/A. I didn't get a chance to make a full pass on the gas. Hell I was just tryin' to figure out the clutch on motor to be able to run decent for the actual event. At least the Viper club had 4 classes, Stock Mod 1( Bolt ons), Mod 2( H/C, N2O, Blower as long as it was stock c.i. & not faster than 10.4), & then Unlimited ( Everything else, Strokers, Big Gas, Turbos) which made more sense.
The group of us that I mentioned, were expecting to run Mod 2.
I'll get it figured out & let you know soon enough. THX

Snowman, Dont make me feel worse than I already do. Good run though Bro, I look forward to doing it again. I just need to practice cutting a light. :D

Some of us work & have family i.e. children & such, & believe it or not actually have other things to do than "check out" the Forum. :jester:
If I misinterpretted your intentions, I apologize.

C5 Pig, I called you at the house & left you a message. Call me tomorrow.

Jon Paul...Congrats on your effort...Your dealing with a lot of variables at the last minute. Looking forward to it all coming together. :yesnod:

The Hooters show and the Shoot Out fell on the same weekend. Spent the day getting my butt handed to me by JWSchmidt3...Who won custom class and best of show. Millenium Yellow cars dominated the classes.

Looking forward to getting back to the track.

JP, I understand your frustrations. Your car has been put into the spotlight on this forum, especially with all of the HMS issues and your 447 rwhp dyno figures. Everyone at the event had VERY high expectations for your car, and it truly sucks when it doesn't deliver as hoped. I've been there before bud, hope you get things worked out soon.

I expected 11.30 @ 125 mph out of your car myself, as did others. See what I mean by "high" expectations? I was way off!

Tony

Darth,
I hope the Cartek clutch works out......we need to know there's a C5 clutch that will hold up to some power. Enjoyed meeting you at the cruise around Houston event.

Thanks for your input at the races regarding your clutch Darth....I am very interested in your opinions of the Cartek system since my third pass wasted my stock clutch in a cloud of smoke:eek: (I was expecting it). My best pass of the day on stock tires and clutch was a 12.28 @ 118.6 mph (not too bad considering it was my first drag race in my vette). Looks like after a clutch and drag radials I need to PRACTICE.

I have the same Cartek clutch in my car. It works awesome! Vetter might just need to adjust the master a bit to set his engagement points to his preference. Cartek recommends disengagement 2/3 up from the floor. JP, don't be so hard on your driving, you did MUCH better than the majority of other cars out there that day!

Ya know, I personally couldn't drive a car to low 11s or high 10s....Ive never had the opportunity to try :D, but I still feel pretty sure about that.

Just b/c Darth didn't get his car where we all think it should be doesn't mean its not capable of doing it, does it? Look at the times from the recent Vette/Viper shootout.....a case of REAL good driving right?

Darth this is no flame to you or your driving cause I dont' know you, I dont how good/bad you drive, I don't know what your times were, frankly I don't really care. But I feel people are flaming you b/c Hennessey worked on your car and the fact that you have pretty high dyno #'s.

Did you run the dyno? Could you have possibly "fixed" the #s? Did you have it dynoed independantly? I think you all know the answers to these questions, if youve been following the topic(no, no, yes- if you need help).

I still feel that TNT has largers "pills" in their nitrous system, but does that reflect against you. Hell no. Wake up people, Leave this guy alone........point your anger where it belongs.

PS I still think your car is sweet.

JP, I know it wasn't the numbers you were looking for, but hey, your "H/C package" ran with a 427. I'd say not too shabby.
