I searched the first 20 pages on C6 to C5 brakes and could not find anything. I know it is out there and maybe I am searching for the wonrg context.
Anyways, C6 brakes installed on a C5 car. Any advantages? Can it be done and what is required to bolt them up? Thanks in advance.
None. The Calipers are Identical. Calipers Made by PBR in Austrialia. Only the lettering is different.
the C6Z51 has a slightly larger rotor, which would require a differnt caliper mouting braket too accomidate the slightly larger rotor. Which you would need 18" front wheels too.
Does this provide better braking? Not really.
If your looking for low cost with much better braking, change to fresh DOT 4 brake fluid and put on some new C5Z06 brake pads.
As long as you are running stock size tires and not road racing a pad upgrade will work fine. The C5 brakes will lock up the wheels and kick the ABS in. I went with bigger rotors and calipers when I went to larger tires.
