Default G5X3 cam question

Is there any HP difference between the 112 or 114 LSA in LG's G5X3 cam? Thinking of going with that cam...................Paul

Default g5-X3

The biggest difference is were the power comes in on the RPM band.

the g5x3 112 will clear but some people go by the .080/.100 rule of clearance and i measured it at .070/.110 so get the x3 on a 112

You have an AUTO, get the 114 No fly cutting and the car runs great. Man I love mine.

I have a different motor w/dished pistons,So I'm not worried about PTV clearence. The 114 LSA will probably be easy to tune anyway. Thanks guy's for the replies ..............Paul

Have G5X3 cam with 114. With the 114 and Auto. it is easier to tune. With this cam you should think about a higher stall T/C. Frank

The 112 will have 4 degrees more overlap, and will be more lopey. It will come on stronger earlier in the powerband, and will probably have a few more ponies up top. I debated a lot about going with a 112 vs. 114 on my 224/224. I wanted the low-end you get with a tighter LSA. With a big(er) cam like the G5X3, the 112 would really be nice, as it's going to be peakier than a small cam. I agree with the others though, that because you have an auto, the wider LSA (smoother idle) might be a good idea...
