Is there any difference in the variations of numbers? I have found a 12561184 that I am thinking about buying for my 98 A4. Thanks

ask the guy if the EGR valve is included
If he says there never was one, it is an LS6

No variations other than F-bod or Corvette. I think the F-body 01-02 has the EGR. All the LS6 intakes are flat on the bottom.

nope. it has the spots where the tubes went under it. the signs are even on the foam pads. Ls6 does not run the coolant tubes thru under there.

Way to tell is the LS6 has square ribbing between the intake ports while early ls1 intakes have large X ribbing. So thats a LS1 not a ls6

Also LS6 intakes are completely flat underneath, they do not have that hump down the middle, that is an LS1 intake
