I'd like to have my extra set of polished OE C5 rear wheels widended to 10.0 or 10.5. They'll be increased to the inside and I'm concerned about back space clearance. Has anyone had this done or know if it will work?
Had a set of chromed Wagon wheels wided to 11.75 inches for a set of 315/30/18 drag radial. Yes, the 18 inch wheels will hit the suspension arms - solution, 1.25 inch wheel adapters!
Yes, tires stick out from the fenders - about an inch. I wouldn't recommend this for general use as it would be ruff on the quarter panels. For an occasional romp down the 1/4 mile - works great!
I had 18x11" wheels on my car prior to my tub kit and they fit without issues. The stock Z06 wheel is 10.5" so you should not have any problems with clearance. Check the back of your wheel and see if the offset is stamped on it. I think the stock offset is around 53mm or so, but you can do a search to confirm. If your offset is similar you'll be fine.
I had my wheels widened an inch by weldcraft wheels in Plymouth, MI. Cost around $200 a wheel.
