well, im adding an iceman cai, a catback exhaust system, underdrive pulley kit, new throttlebody, all that for under 2 grand...then a aerochargers turbokit, for 1,900 and 100 for the place to tune the turbo after some guys i know and i install it...thats how im going i belive.
horsepower...ill be at probably 200 with the first set of mods, plus the turbo kit adds 40-50% more hp, so i could be running 300 hp with 4g's
Re: Help with a C5 discussion at work.... (Sully C5)
This guys is definitely insane. It would take $20,000 to do it...maybe more. Tell him to get his mods. Set a time at the dragstrip. Tell him anytime, anywhere. Put a friendly $500 on it. Rev to 2200 rpms. Drop the clutch. Smooth up to WOT. Run a conservative 13.0 second 1/4 mile. Beat him by 5+ car lengths. Take $500 and buy frame to hold the two timeslips and a picture of the winner. Hang in the office for everyone to see. Take leftover money and have a nice steak dinner and catch a movie.
Feel free to print this out and give it to him. Heck, I'll even pay to trailer his Focus down here and woop his a**.
I bet if you put money on it and name a date and time he will back out pretty quick. Tell him to put his money where his mouth is. :bs
Re: Help with a C5 discussion at work.... (RedHot)
Hell you could say that about anycar :D I could buy a yugo put 60 grand worth the mods, kick a vipers butt and still be 10 grand less ??? :D :D LOL I say don't waste your time with jealous people like that :) :)
Re: Help with a C5 discussion at work.... (Sully C5)
Just tell him that any car can be made to go fast in a straight line. There are Honda Civics that will blow the doors off a Vette.
Tell him that he should go spend the $$$ & that you will run him 1 mile through a series of S-turns, followed immediately by a 1 mile straight-away. Then you proceed to an oval track & run 200 laps together.
Basically it sounds like he is just busting your chops.
Once again, Sully comes through with painful clarity of thought. DANG! :seeya
Re: Help with a C5 discussion at work.... (Pat97Vette)
I think its funny how everyone with a corvette has some sort of 'Holier then thou' arrogant attitude about everything.
The first post was made without providing full background on the matter at hand.
TheWolf had not been around for the whole conversation, and didnt seem to interested in finding out what it was, instead he decided to come on the board and try to make a fool of me.
Domestic rice? Please. Ive seen a 2nd Generation Eclipse smoke a Z06 vette that was highly modified. Call cars what you will, doesnt mean they arent fast.
For all of you who where wondering, the conversation was between ME (the focus owner) and another owner of a c5 vette. I told him that speed wise, I could get the focus to go faster then the vette (quarter mile we are talkin here...) for much less then the stock vettes price.
I was right. And I never talked down on the vette.
Its very professional for a CEO of a company to come on a public board and threaten the job of one of his employees because he was misinformed of the matter at hand. Very.
Re: Help with a C5 discussion at work.... (TheWolf)
"and that I wasted 50 grand...bla bla bla....."
Once again, making things up in a desperate attempt to deminish my character.
I never said anyone wasted money. One thing I did say was 'If you bought the vette just to go fast quarter mile drag style, and some guy with a car that cost WAY less smokes you, wouldnt you feel like an idiot?'
