Gas mileage
I have a 97 C5 which I was getting around 25-26 MPG on a trip. I changed the gears to 3.43 and put in a new torgue converter. Now I get about 16 MPG on a trip. Is this normal or is something wrong?

How big of a stall converter did you put in ?? and do you mean 3.42 gears ?? I would guess that it sounds a little low--but it could be something else--Did you have a tuner make all the appropriate computer adjustments associated with a hi-stall torque converter ?There are some things that MUST be done to make it work right
ie: TQ management-shift times-misfire detection-trans pressure-shift point adjustments(related to the 3.42)

once the stall locks up it has nothing to do with your mileage. It is not unusal to drop 20 - 25% when you go from 273's t0 342's but your drop seems a little larger than normal. I went from 30mpg t0 24mpg highway but I've got a lot of mods also. Have you had your car tuined??
