Advice/Thoughts!
So, I replaced my 160 thermostat with a stock 195 and took my blue blaster into the dealer for a PCM flash. It sounded good on the phone, one hour labor, I could wait for the car.
I get to the dealer and the service manager calls out the computer guy who goes into a long pain filled explanation of how hard it will be to accomplish a stock flash. He wanted to focus on the key FOB programming. I challeged him saying I programmed my own FOB's in about three minutes. Then he said it would be hard to finish the program in under 90 minutes.
I told him he had an hour and did'nt want to get home and have the thing take a dump. I did leave the car so "they could work it in".
Is this reasonable or am I getting a rash from going to a dealer?

For them to flash a stock tune they hook up the tech II to a computer and log on to the GM techline, download the stock PCM program and then they plug the tech II into your car and download the program into the PCM, it should take more than 5 minutes at each point and add in another 5 minutes walking over to your car from the computer.
I picked it up a few minutes ago and it was 1 3/10 hours=$133.00. The service manager said they needed to do a "cam shaft re-learn".
I did notice a performance differance (lack of) since one of the previous owners had done unknown tuning to the car. At least I'm back to stock and can now use my Hypertech.
It could have been worse, I think!

It seems they were a little busy and gave a little excuse for having to take a long time! or he's not too familiar with doing it and it will really take that long!

Thanks,Matt
