My extended warranty expires next month. I had the car in last week as the fuel gauge will occasionally stick on full for a few days, then drop to 3/4 or 1/2. The GM dealer said they updated the software (flashed) the ECM to cure the problem. Since the problem is intermittant I'm unable to tell if that "fixed" it. Has anyone experienced this type of repair? I'm afraid after the warranty (GMPP) expires I'll be SOL if the problem reappears.

Try the Techron treatment...it may take one or two cans to do the job. the treatment has fixed a lot of the problems you are having... my $.02
^^ That or run a can of Seafoam in your tank with only about 6 or 7 gallons of fuel, 1 can did the job for me on a very bad gauge, its been 6 months now and holding strong, also only try to use good gas like Shell and Cheveron.
insist they replace both sending units before the warranty expires... cite the looming expiry and the unacceptability of the answer should.....
Try to get a written pre-agreement that they will cover the above repairs should the problem crop up within a year of expiry of the GMPP.
