Magnaflow exhaust

Thanks in advance,

I didn't much care for the billet nameplate in between the tips so I fabbed a bunch of custom plates to cover it for me and a few other MF owners here. Eventually I went to Borla Stingers and then finally to Z06 Ti's with cutouts.
Afa the price, I paid basically the discounted price shown there back when they were just released.

Thanks again,

The exhaust tone is quiet. But, when you mash the pedal it sounds great.
BUY IT

Thanks again,
Tracy
P.S. Patches, you gonna have one of those bad a$$ plates ready to sell? tt

I agree with Ed 100% with his description/review! I have the same exhaust as the one that you're looking at, and it's much more quiet than most of the exhausts out there now. It's sounds like an old Big Block Musclecar and sounds Great yet not over the top.
I've also got one of the Famous "Patches Plates" and have gotten quite a few compliments on it, because Guys that know the MAgnaFlow exhausts recognize the MagnaFLow plate and they wondered where it went. Ed is like the David Copperfield of MagnaFlow exhausts......He made the plate disappear!
While this exhaust might be a bit pricier than others, it's quality is second to none! The polishing is almost too nice to put under the car.
Best of Luck with your choice, but you Definitely won't be Sorry if you get his system.
They show almost 16 HP on dyno (most cat backs are 7 HP) and noise levels were close to stock. Hope this helps.

In terms of build and post-purchase support.
I got the first batch in Canada back in 2000 and had it replaced under warranty due to a broken mounting hinge weld - no questions asked.
Last November, I had the same issue and it was replaced again - again no question asked.
The good news - all the defects that led to my warranty claims were addressed and some in terms of the latest version of the exhaust system. I would have no hesitation on recommending this system as a result - EXCELLENT build, and warranty and great sound/performance.
My .02
I have had several of the popular aftermarket exhaust systems and Magnaflow is my favorite. I have thme on my '99. Great looking system with great sound.
They don't drone at cruise like the Borla Stingers I had before, but there is a low frequency harmonic in the trunk of my Z that's very bassy, and I really like. I have LGs with no cats, and X. They're much quieter than the Stingers everywhere, but with headers, they're awesome. I'm going to install cats, and got a fantastic price on a new catback with the two large oval tips I've always wanted,(Corsa Pace Car) but if they're not as nice sounding as the MF's, the new set will be up for sale. If I keep the MFs, I'll be wanting that custom center plate, too. They're nice.
I originally purchased the very first system they ever produced for retail sale. That was back in April, 2000. Since that time I had two minor issues occur. A few years ago I noticed that one of the brackets that hold the center plate on had cracked. Their response was to replace the entire exhaust system for free including the shipping both ways. They had made several improvements over the original design to make installation easier, even though there was no problem originally. A little over month ago one of the brackets that slide into the rubber bushings behind the bumper started to crack a little. I never even noticed it. Someone standing behind my car pointed it out to me when I was revving my motor so another person could hear the exhaust. One muffler was moving more than the other. Upon inspection I noticed the crack. I guess I could have just had it welded, but I first called the rep at Magnaflow to ask his advice. He said that shouldn't have happened and hadn't heard of it happening to anyone else. Once again I was advised of their lifetime warranty. Again, they replaced the entire exhaust system for free. Every single bolt, gasket and clamp too, is brand new. I have no old parts to re-use. They also again paid for the shipping both ways. Of course I had to change the exhaust myself, but that is no big deal, considering their service. I am capable of doing that myself. The one and only downside to the whole deal is that during the whole time I decided to remove my exhaust prior to getting the replacement. Once I knew of the cracked bracket I didn't want to drive around with the moving exhaust, especially since there was the possibilty of a road trip befroe the new one arrived. They were out of stock temporarily and I would have to wait an extra week. So, during this time I put my stock Z06 exhaust back on and I can truly say, I miss my Magnaflow. Hoping to get it back on real soon.
Sorry this post is so long, but the reason I wrote this is to give people another good reason to choose Magnaflow. Besides all the performance and quality features, they stand behind their products, as you would hope they would. It is seven years since my original purchase and they still back their product. BTW, I originally had the system on another C5, in case anyone was wondering.

It is loud, no doubt about it, but I don't really care
