2000 MN6 What fluids should I change/use
What fluids should I change given the car is 7 years old...coolant, brake, steering, diff, oil (anything else - do I need to do all of them (i.e. if it ain't broke don't fix it mentality))? And what would be the best replacement fluid for each to prolong life (although stock has worked fine for me).
Also, what are your thoughts on flushing/cleaning agents.
As I said, the car is 7 years old - any other items I should freshen up - car has 40,000 miles on it.
Thanks,
Here's what you should replace if you haven't, already:
Coolant (long-life stuff from GM)
Brake fluid flush
Transmission fluid (I used Amsoil synthetic ATF)
Diff gear lube (I used Amsoil SVG 75W-90 synthetic)
Steering fluid (Turkey baster works well)
Clutch fluid (Brake fluid, I believe)
If you replace coolant every 5 years, I don't think flushing/cleaning fluids are necessary. They do come in handy if the coolant is brown and was neglected.
