Default Headlights

Installed new "Xenon" Bulbs in my '99. Never noticed before, but when I go from low beam to high beam the low beams go off. I think when the high beams are on all 4 lights should be on, correct? When I pullthe lever (flick to pass) all 4 are on. Do I have a wiring problem? Do I have a Headlight switch problem? Don't want to go to dealer for diag
Also, when I ask a question I don't know how to find out if anyone has answered-Please help

To see if someone might have asked a similar question in the past I recommend you use the search function.

Also, in the C5 general section there is a sticky with tons of info about the C5 you may find useful. Here is link.

Not a super technical person but I think your the reason your low beams go off when you put your highbeams on is because your relay switch is programmed to operate this way. May be due to local laws. I know people wanting to move to HID replacement bulbs have mentioned this problems also.

I don't now if the owners manual addresses this question or not.

I installed (or should I say my brother) HID lights that work on both low and high beams. Pretty expensive option though but it works nice.

If you are looking for more light power that's less expensive I have seen posts about switching to toshiba's. Nice improvement over stock.
