Default cold air intake advice

Got the mod bug. Have to make a choice. Vararam or Hurricane? Pro's and con's for both. ALready ordered power ducts and front screen. Can't decide which system to go. Luckily, both are back ordered so i still have time to research. advice?

Vararam Proven results. More time for install ( straightforward and easy but will take a morning.) Some complain of the fit and finish.

Why are you limiting yourself to those two? The Callaway Honker relocates the MAF, meaning it is far less likely to be coated with filter oil over time. Yes, it is expensive, but quality is top-notch.

My vote is for the Calaway Honker. I have it on my 98, fits great and looks just as nice. Larger filter and cold air induction sold me on this high quality product.

If you ask about a cooler air intake, you have even more choices...

Everyone has their .02 to deposit on this subject. Intakes and Exhaust are the first mods everyone does so everyone has their thoughts on the issue.

Personally i'm running a cheap 2 cone intake that came with the car because i haven't had time/money to replace it. It's probably loosing me HP over gaining but besides the point.

Honestly if you look the prices are all comparable depending on your budget. The options you listed and the honker as mentioned by others are at the top of the list for C5 owners who want the most out of their intakes.

suggestoins to help.

Look at whats required for the install. Decide if you can handle the install (not insulting you, just advising)

Price

and advertised gain.

Also if you use the search option at the top of the page i'm pretty sure there are numerous polls on this that will not only give you great information as to why some picked their intake but also lets you see real numbers as to which intake is most common to find under the hood of a CF member.

Good luck.

Honkers can keep their so called "better build quality", I will take performance any day. Plus the new VR design is much better than the originals. And I hate the gooseneck look of the Honker too, worst looking intake IMO
