Default Help: P0410HC AIR System DIC

I own a 2000 6M with 58,000. Recently I had my check engine light came on and check on the DIC codes.

I got this: P0410 AIR System

First I tried replacing the Secondary AIR Relay ($20) from Advance. Cleared the Check engine light, drove for 15-20 minutes over 2000 RPMs while fuel was above 20%. Sure enough the Check Engine Light came back on. It always shows up on the 3rd ignition after reset.

I'm hoping the only issues are the 4 O2 Sensors. Question is, which one? I went back to Advance and found the Upstream and the Downstream sensors for about $80 each.

1. Is it safe to say that I can buy one of each to test out and luck out that it only be one sensor giving me this DIC code?

2. For it's year, should I go ahead and replace all 4? Which I don't want to do, because I really don't have the money for it.

Or...

3. Am I looking in completely the wrong area and that code has completely nothing to do with the O2 sensor and try [this] (replace: this, with what issue it could be) and don't waste your money on those, that wont fix the problem.

I have about 2.5 hours before I leave work and head straight to Advance. I plan on spending the evening and tomorrow replacing O2 sensors. I hope to hear that I am going in the right direction before I realize that I could be wasting my time.

Thanks.
Larry

Fairly common problem. Do a search on 410 code.
Air pump or check valve issue most likely. Some have sprayed carb cleaner down hoses to valves to unstick, then spray wd40 to lube and issue goes away. Some remove the air pump altogether and re program so no codes show up.
Do the search first before taking off the O2's and start simple and no cost, then work your way towards spending $'s.
