I am trying to figure out which head/cam package to go with that will give me the most possible hp gain. 03 C5 6spd... have on the way a FAST 90/Kooks 1 7/8 longtubes. I want the best package I can get without any work for piston clearance. I have spoken with Dan @ Livernois Motorsports about a set of stage2 heads and 232/595 114 LSA cam. Any other recommended places like MTI, Cartek, and ECS with your input would be greatly appreciated.

Can't go wrong with a set of AFR 205s or Trick Flow 215s with a G5X series camshaft. Vengeance Racing has had some awesome numbers with their cars using the Trick Flow 215s.

The I think the TEA TFS heads + any cam and any headers is going to be real fast.
I know I am a newb to some of these names but is TFS-Trick Flow and AFR-?? Where can I look up info on the GX4 cam? I was told the 1 7/8 headers will be the ideal longtubes if your going to run the FAST 90 intake/tb w/ any stage 2 H/C package. Do you think 400 rwhp will be really close to reach with these mods?
Typically 1 3/4 are better for HC packages. If you go extreme you can do the 1 7/8s but most will benefit more from the 3/4s. Are you looking for "the most possible hp" or somewhere around 400? thats a big difference since several packages have gone over the 500rwhp mark. 400 is an easy number to make, you dont need a big cam or a fast 90 setup to get it. You can get 400 with an ls6 intake, a mild cam, and ported heads plus a few other goodies. If its 500rwhp you want, Cartek did it to my friends car with thier 4X setup through 4.56 gears(runs 10.4s too). For heads, the trick flows have been making great power lately.

I had my Z06's cam done by ECS, I already had long tubes/hi flow cats and came out with 70 more rwhp and 20 something more rwtq. Bubba's 01 Z06 came out with almost identical numbers. Both car have stock untouched heads, 430rwhp. Mike 69 had a head and cam package done at ECS and hit 502rwhp, do a search for his and Bubba's 01 video.
I believe forum member YO-El has the Cartek 4x package and is running 10.9 consistently. I would check them out if I wasn't 3500 miles away. Track proven, not just peak numbers!

He will be doing better than 10.9s in the fall. Cartek has their 4X package running 10.55@130 in a z06 and 10.41@131 in an fbody.

I have run 10.9x's a dozen times Cam Only with stock weight/susp/bottom end.
TSP H/C package with a cam of your choice, you can get a complete package with everything you will need for ~2k, thats the kit I will be going with soon.
IMO, the 1 7/8" headers are only for the more extreme applications that need the peak high RPM output, but sacrifice some low-midrange torque to get that. This is based on stock 346" configs. If drivability isn't an issue, get that G5X-4 cam and ETP heads. I'm happy with the TEA-Trickflows and smaller Crane cam (228/232) that I'm using. Of course, AFR (Airflow Research) are great, too.
I had my H/C package done by DTE. Phil did a great job taking time to find out what I was looking for, typical driving, etc., and then making suggestions he felt would achieve my goals, keep me happy (my car is a daily driver), and be within my budget. The work was performed over two years, so he also suggested ways to minimize the cost of rework and "wasted" parts (it was my idea to do it over two years because of budget).
The work and tune are amazing, and the cost was competitive. My car has a very stock idle but still makes 423 rwhp and 391 rwtq ( http://www.comp-soln.com/Dyno3Run.jpg ). It's tough to keep the tires from spinning at almost any speed (Eagle F1 Supercars on Z06 rims).
