Default Sevice abs and traction control?

Icon came up on the dash today, and in the text window it says service abs and traction control. I hit the reset button to stop it coming up constantly. Anyone have experience in what is going on? Do I have to take it in to the dealership? I just had a tune and do not want the dealer ship to do something with my tune. Help! Thanks in advance for your help. Hot Rod

mine pops up when i get a little over zealous in a turn or driving over train tracks (bumps in the road) fairly quickly. I just reset it and it doesn't pop up until I repeat the causes, some could say its the EBCM starting to go out maybe??

I had this happen last year at this exact time. I have an '01 and luckily have GMPP. The dealer checked it and I was told my traction control modulator and ABS modulator both were bad!?!?!? It took 8 weeks for GM to ship parts and the cost was about $3800.00!! Car has been fine since, but I have always wondered about that one. You may want someone to check and clean ALL ground lugs. Good luck.

there is a major thread about this, search EBCM. Sorry but this is very costly if your past your warranty. I paid $1200 to get my EBCM & BPMV replaced but that was with some goodwill love from GM customer service. I still get the codes from time to time when I hit bumps while braking… also found that harness for this system is bad.

Search for the thread and do the troubleshoot steps to see if your can resolve it.
