Replacing Stock Stereo
Im just wondering what I have to do to replace my stock head unit with a stock unit from another C5 (doesnt read discs anymore). Is there a security password? How hard will this be? Thanks

I haven't done it myself but I think that the security password is optional. there's no password unless the previous owner of that head unit chose to enable that feature, if that is the case you may need that password in order to get the new unit to work.

If anything it may go into lock mod and you will need a password to unlock. the dealer charges 70 bucks for the password but I can tell you how to get the code yourself. You pretty much press a sequence of buttons the the cd player, your display will show a 6 digit number, than call into GM and give them the 6 digit number. They will then give you a 4 digit number that you put into the cd player to get it out of lock mod.
