Default LPE GT11 Cam

Anyone using an LPE GT11 cam in a stock longblock LS6? With heads? If so, results and details please! What compression ratio and what octane gas is it tuned for?

Thanks!

Nobody???

This is a pretty off the wall camshaft compared to most aftermarket cams... from Lingenfelter's website:

Camshaft specifications: 215/231 duration @ .050 .631/.644 with 1.7 ratio rocker arms 118.0 CL.

A couple of guys in the C6 forum have gotten excellent results with this cam on the LS2, claiming stock like idle and drivability, with great torque through the band and great top end power, kinda like the stock LS6 only more potent.

Thinking this cam with a set of good heads would make for a nice sleeper C5Z...

This cam is designed to work with LPEs PP LS6 heads. Fly cutting the pistions is required.

No it would not be a sleeper, fast as chit, but ppl would here this cam coming.

I wonder how this would work as a High Output Blower Cam Low intake duration with large spread to exhaust, relatively high LSA(118) Only problem that might be obvious is that the high lift could be hard on valvesprings

I agree with the FI part... I'm thinking this would be a good blower or turbo cam also... handy if I should go that route in the future.

I'm sure it would be hard on valvesprings... maybe need to replace on a regular basis, once a year? Guess a few calls would be in order to figure that one out.

Those are some pretty high lift #s.

You would need to check your valvesprins often.

You mean GT1-1. That's the cam I have in my stock short block LS1. While they were doing the H/C package I upgraded to the LS6 heads. The car is radical at idle. I love it. Definitly not a sleeper. I have since had it retuned and tweeked more power that was hiding. Still working on the NX direct port kit. PM me for any more ?'s.

This is a much tamer cam than your GT1-1... your cam is 229/242 duration on a 114 LSA with .631/.631 lift. No kidding your's doesn't idle like stock!
