i did a set of Dynatech headers to an 03 automatic car a little while ago. now i keep getting codes for the bank 2 upstream oxygen sensor having insufficient switching. i figured it was a bad o2 sensor, so we replaced them both. still kicking codes. i cant figure it out. no burned wires, no loose connections, nothing. any ideas? also, tried swapping a different 02 on that side, thinking i may have had a bad sensor. no dice. now were out of time to get it to pass state inspection.
so please, give me advice so i can get my buddys car back on the road.

LT headers will set codes for the rear O2 sensors because the O2 sensors are set further back and they take longer to lite off so it throws the code. The fix is to have the rear O2 sensors deleted by a tuner or get a set of O2 simulators.
Good luck
Are these the fronts? The Dynatechs have very long primaries, I was under the impression you needed the rears in the fronts on these to keep them hot enough. This requires an adapter though.
My 03 A4 throws an 1153 every now and then too. Started about a year after the Stainless works LT's went in. I'm still running all 4 O2 sensors as well. Might happen after 3 or 4 run cycles. Some times sooner ,sometimes later. Hasen't been to big a deal though, I simply delete the code as I'm driving if it pops up.
Another Q would be if when this code is thrown, is performance affected??? Doesn't seem to but.....?
I too would love to hear about a cure if someone has one.
Thanks Guys, Bob
PS dusterbd13, glad you posted this as I was going to replace the two foward O2's someday as well!
talked with jeff creetch. said that some of the dynatech o2 extension cables are bad, and that this is probably what is causing the problem.
so were going to get a couple, swap em out, and see what happens.
anything else we can think of?

Interesting on the extensions, I didn't need extensions with SW headers.
I had a thought last night. It was right after the Head and Cam install that mine started throwing the 1153 code. Obviously the headers were at least unbolted from the heads to do that. I installed the headers a year before that.
I also remember a few years back that a forum member had a problem with his O2's. He posted pictures of how he opened up the orifices in the ends of his O2's with a dremmel. Used little cutting wheel and added a tiny slice of an opening so they would receive better. That cured his problem. I just don't remember what code he was kicking out at that time.
I just put a set of O2 sims on mine and it has cured the issue so far - I've been running the Dynatechs for over a year now. Are you sure it's the code for the front sensor? Mine was for the rear passenger side.
You could also put header wrap on to hold the heat in.
