I've searched and can't find an answer. Can the round plug in the back of the intake, that holds the map sensor and the brake vacuum tube, be easily removed? It has movement in it if I try to turn it as if maybe it is keyed.
I know it can be removed, but not sure on the procedure. I believe it is turn and pull but would need to consult the service manual.
I turned and pulled but nothing gave. I pryed with a screwdriver. I put a long screwdriver in from the throttle body end and tapped on it. I tried to shine a light down it to see how it came off but just couldn't tell.
look on ebay and find the 3 bar map sensor...it looks like it should just pul off. I will be doing this in a couple weeks when I get all my twin turbo parts ann start installing them. I need a 3 bar map sensor and I have been looking it up on ebay but I will be able to get more info as I will not be afraid to pul and possible break my OEM one in a couple weeks when replacing. If you can wait I will do the dirty work for you and tell you how it goes.

Sure, I can wait. Just so we are on the same page, you can change out the map sensor without removing the piece I am talking about. The map sensor pushes into a hole in this piece with a rubber grommet. I got the map sensor out without a problem, but I did tear the grommet.

I figured out exactly how to remove this pice when I tried to remove it and it snapped!!! There was movement in mine and that was the location of a vacum leak I had. I turned it, pulled on it, and finally pried the edge with a screw driver and it sanpped!! Opppssss!! by the way, at the dealer, you can't replace just the one pice, you would have to buy the intake. It is removable though, there are three little prongs that hold it in. If you were to pry from those three areas I am confident it would pop out. I'm sure it will take two peopel but it can be done! Good Luck!! Dan
